2012 – Toronto Half-Marathon

MMR-Toronto Finish

Mike Toronto Finish

Mikey had an excellent race, running nine minutes faster than Tahoe in 2:14.  Good enough for another age group first.  This time there actually were two guys in the group that were slower than me….  Boring picture documenting finish below.  Not much compared to Team Ladera in the lake at Tahoe.

Left the hotel in mist at 7.  By 7:30 in vicinity of start, hard rain. Fortunately had brought my throwaway poncho.   Rain got worse right up to start at 8:30.    But let up and then stopped around 10K point and dry after that.   Not close to as bad as Tromso.

Last third of race, guy with 2:00 pace card stayed just in front of me.   My watch was predicting 2:10 plus finish, but I wondered a bit.  Watch was right.  So don’t believe those pacers.  Very nice race with 15K+ runners was incredibly well organized.  Enjoyed being in crowd the whole way, but not sure I’m signing up for downtown skyscraper runs again soon.   You get spoiled by Tahoe, Death Valley, etc.

That’s two good TL races in two days.  Nice going Steve!
