2016 – Fox Cities Marathon Relay

What a weekend of terrific running with good friends, family…memories to last a lifetime! Partly in celebration of Mike’s 80th birthday, Team Ladera put together a “Wisconsin connections” team for the Marathon Relay in the Fox Cities (Appleton, Menasha and Neenah)! Sue Rohan, Jennifer Roberts, Greg Wood (2 legs!) and Mike Roberts were quite pleased to end up with a 4:12:14 for 20th out of 55 teams in “Friends and Family” division, and 61st out of 166 total teams in the Relay!
Thanks to Mark Luker, Tony Roberts and Stephanie Roberts (Mike’s brother and sister) for great race support as usual!
The weather could not have been better, and runners enjoyed a great course full of cheering spectators, and solid race organizing. Of particular sentimental interest was the last half mile of the course going past the house Mike grew up in and the finish in Riverside Park where the Roberts kids raced sailboats in the 1950’s.
