Jennifer handed off to Mike at about mile 5 – where the course leaves the forest and heads out along the bluff.  Better views but headwinds slowed everyone down.

Mike also ran about 5 miles before Chandra Ramamoorthy took the 7-mile 3rd leg which included the infamous hill after Bixby Bridge.  She handed off to Steve Corbato for the final 9-mile leg.

In the ten years since Mike, Gary and Mary ran the entire Marathon, Big Sur has become a big-name and very popular race – this year there were over 1oK runners in various races, with 188 shuttle buses transporting people up and down Highway One.  Despite the tough course and complicated logistics, Team Ladera finished in good form and all happy and healthy!
