As a prelude to the Helvetia Half in two weeks, Kim and I ran the Bolder Boulder 10K this morning along with 50k+ other people. Frank Shorter was the starter. There are so many runners, the age groups are by year, rather than half decade.
Kim ran 52:13 for 27th out of 521 in the F40 age group
I ran 53:29 for 74th out of 296 in the M53 age group.

It didn’t feel as crowded as it sounds because it is very well organized with time qualified waves (sub 68 min 10k). But to give you an idea of the size, there are waves starting approx. every minute from 7am – 9:26 am (including jogging and walking waves). Also a variety of entertainment and distraction along the way including music, slip n slide for runners, belly dancers, beer, bacon, cupcakes, and a nice finish in Folsom Field.
